Elite+ showing as TKP and not TK*G on StarAlliance (LH, etc)
I was wondering if anybody else has experienced this on TK (or other Star Alliance programmes/carriers):
I recently got upgraded from TK Elite (*G) to the next level of TK Elite+ (which is still supposed to be *G), however, now when I check in on online on LH, my status is shown as TKP, with no possibility to select "front row seats" or do priority boarding.
On calling TK's customer care, they basically said that they have heard of the issue and that I must check in at the counter and then show my card confirming my status. Ie, "nothing we can do". Really silly in fact, since by that time all seats have been taken and I'll end up at row 27 middle seat, so I might as well abide by my row 12+ seating...
Incidentally, I had the same problem on South African, when I went from Voyager Gold (used to show SA*G) to Voyager Platinum (always reverted to SAP). I got so fed up with SA'n that I status matched to TK just to have proper *G priviliges again without the SAP fuss every time at check in.
Is this a Star Alliance-wide problem? Does anybody else experience this? Maybe my next stop should be A3?????
I was thinking to ask for a second "family card" for myself on my own name with gold status, or even just to be downgraded to Elite... If that is even possible? Any ideas?
