You are very blessed to have never had the flu but it wouldn't be too cool to get the flu on a MR or have a MR to make and be too sick to make it or worse yet give it to someone because you made the trip! Also it is recommended for healthy children as you will see from reading the information in USA today and the CDC website healthy children get the flu and unfortunately some of them die, don't let it be a friend or member of your family because they were not immunized.
