Most VX FA's let me put it in the bag. But they usually say it must be stored or taken by the cabin crew. A policy I didn't quite understand until now.

Pretty annoying, on the FAA part. It's a mini-water bottle. I guess if there was a hard landing and it went a-flying, it could possibly hurt someone. But then again, so can anything else.
