I would say it is highly doubtful that this rather universal 'disclosure' would be waterproof in order to legitimize the guest being charged hard cash.

Then points being kept - understandable. But an important item like this should be individually displayed with each reservation. Depending on the State/Country in which jurisdiction this would be litigated against... It wouldn't see the light of day.
