There is a strange phenomenon that is often masked under the "guise" of saving money; whereas people waste resources and time in order to get goods/services (in this example an airline ticket) for a lower price.

They succeed, in the most basic form, of getting the airfare for $320 instead of $470; but have an inability to comprehend that their total "costs" are actually higher.

There must be a name for this phenomenon. It definitely surfaces quite often on FlyerTalk.
