Never been on a lax-ont flight as I don't think UA has these anymore.
I was on the ONT-LAX flight, and all I remember was "It's now okay to use acceptable electronic devices," followed by about five seconds, and "please shut down and stow all electronic devices." Excellent comedic timing on the part of the FA.
