Almost every airport in Burma continues with the colonial name of the location. E.g. Prome (which was a mis-hearing of Pyay) is PRU. Sandoway, which should be spelt Thandwe, is SNW. Plenty of other examples in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. My perception is that while city councillors love to persuade people that (e.g.) Bengaluru is the way to go, the residents tend to be unconvinced. The Mumbai middle classes definitely live in Bombay!

Among those to go are SAL, Salisbury, though that was confusing.
