That layover in DEL looks positively brutal. Remember you're going to have to book DEL-SIN at 20:30 on the 25th, as you arrive into DEL 00:45 on the 25th. You won't be getting into SIN until the 26th. That means you have a 20h layover which will require you to get a transit visa. Getting a transit visa is a pain in the arse - as the Indian consulate won't issue it with more than 14 days validity from the date of issue and since you're leaving a week before, there's a real risk your passport can be tied up in processing.

I'd much rather go ZRH-PEK on the 24th, connecting through ICN or HND to get to SIN. It's hard to get a lot of these direct routes during Chinese New Year it seems!
Thanks again tng11. I guess I will do a 2015 departure for ORD. Was hoping to arrive earlier since I have work the next day - but better safe than sorry.

That's the issue about DEL. I am not sure about the transit visa.

Got this from their Toronto's Consulate General website.

I will be changing flights/airports in India to travel to my final destination (say Nepal, Thailand etc.) Do I need a visa to change flights/airport terminals?
You need to apply for a transit visa if you are going to change from an international terminal to a domestic terminal of any Indian airport or if you are going to stay in an airport hotel even for a few hours. You don't need a transit visa if you stay in the waiting area reserved for international transit passengers in an Indian airport. Note that you can stay for a maximum period of 72 hours in India on a transit visa. You should have a confirmed air ticket for the onward journey.
But couldn't find any more specific information. Was thinking of just staying in the lounge.

Will look into alternative routing. Tough luck I guess

EDIT: Can't find ZRH-PEK direct through Aeroplan.com for J (available for Y), but available through ANA search. Would I be able to get that flight?
