Gaucho100K, I'd just like to add that in 2011 I visited Orlando and stayed in both - I found the Villages a much nicer experience overall. I did not ask for any particular phase/building though I think I was put in St Augustine. We liked it so much more that we cancelled the remainder of our stay at the Resorts and moved back to the Villages which is that much further away from Disney (which was why we originally booked the Resorts; the Villages was supposed to be our base for visiting Seaworld and Universal).

This was my first and only time there, but based on that I would go back to the Villages in a shot
