This is a bit more interesting. They are contemplating changing their FPC program and invited me to compare their prototype FPC programs with Hyatt and Marriott.
They are proposing new tier structures like:
Bronze: Entry level
Gold: 10 nights, 5 stays, or $2500 spend per year
Platinum: 20 nights, 10 stays, or $5000 spend per year
Diamond: 40 nights, 20 stays, or $10000 spend per year
And they threw around different combinations of benefits for each tier. Then asked me which program I would choose if I had to stay in a city with the choices of Hyatt, Marriott, and the 2 prototype FPC programs listed.
The new benefits considered include:
Complimentary breakfast
10% Spa discount
Complimentary airport transfer
Complimentary daily shoeshine
Complimentary yearlong lease to a BMW car
Invite one other person to matching status
Thanks for posting! Very interesting indeed!
A year-long lease to a BMW? Wow...
Iīd definitely welcome a new status level for members spending 30-40 nights each year. Comp. breakfast would be nice assuming itīs a full breakfast (similar to Hyatt Diamond where one gets full breakfast incl. in-room dining) and not some continental breakfast.
Complimentary airport transfer would be nice as well, would save me $100 per stay.
To be honest I donīt even need a huge amount of new benefits (at least with the current status qualification requirements) - I just want the benefits back we received three years ago, namely the ability the earn additional suite upgrade certs as a Platinum member for stays during the low season. Alternatively, FPC could introduce threshold gifts, e.g. one additional suite upgrade cert after 20/30/40/etc. nights.
