This is a useful tool for churning.
I think he simply meant he transferred his dad's MR points (on the Gold card) to MR points (on the Platinum card), or same as linking both cards to the same AMEX MR account, then disconnect the Gold card when it's cancelled
AFAIK, there is no way to TRANSFER AMEX MR between 2 people
You can transfer our AMEX MR to "someone else's FFP program" but that's different
