Correct - UA offers complimentary elite upgrades on all ex-ORD/DEN/SFO/LAX Hawaii flights. AA offers 500mi sticker upgrades (complimentary for EXPs) on all Hawaii routes - including the ex-ORD/DFW routes operated with lie-flat business seats and an near international level of premium service. Delta is very much behind in this regard - although I've found their discount-F Hawaii tickets to be the most reasonable of the major carriers.
