When will the reservation be confirmed or cancelled? Well that's anyone's guess but if they are not going to honour my feeling is that it will be sooner rather than later.

No reason to use a different name, although as has happened to me once in the past they may think you have made a duplicate booking and contact you to clarify.

It will either be a go or a non starter irrespective of names. If you require another room better to book it now because it won't be around for very long once the mistake is noticed.

You should get a full refund in the event of bad news.

Regarding the extra room . The room is a quad and as per the booking.com website hotel policy is :-

Free! All children or adults stay free of charge when using existing beds.

Budgetplaces just states :- Child not requiring bed FREE, up to 12 year(s)

So if the extra room required is for your family/children then in theory at least you could bring as many as you wished...providing they were using existing beds.

Better that you check it out first though.
