This was news to me.
Trying to book JNB-WDH-CPT and being prevented by ba.com - booking engine reverts to UK when SA selected, logging in produces Page Not Found - I tried expedia.com and found plenty of availabilty with SAA. aa.com priced up some (more expensive) BA options. Then 'what if?' struck. Try kulula.com. @:-)
Flights were offered and were clearly marked 'operated by British Airways'. What's more, there was a dropdown box for entering FF details.

I was surprised and may book. I'm going to check for Avios RFS redemptions if ba.com reverts to normal, but earning Avios with kulula.com is attractive.
Just one thing. I can't purchase baggage in advance, only after buying the ticket.

British Airways flight extras can only be purchased after your booking has been confirmed and you’ve received your flight reference number. Visit ba.com to add extra bags of 23kgs before your flight for only R245 a bag, or to make any special dietary requirements, pre-paid seats and more.
I'm assuming that I can select seats at ba.com but that I will have to pay for baggage.
