The problem you're going to face using miles is that BA are unlikely to release award seats at Easter on the Maldives route when the flights are going to be busy, if not sold out.

Is there a reason why Dubai? Only reason I ask is that if you do have miles coming out your ears and you just want to go to pretty much any city, then you could always look at flying Malaysian via Kuala Lumpur.

You could also look at Qatar Airways via Doha to use points.

Or you could fly BA either to DXB, AUH or maybe somewhere in India then pay cash for the add on with whoever flies that leg. And you'll have two tickets so you really need to allow gaps on the transfers - I recall a couple of threads from earlier this year where people had seen schedule changes make a right mess of things like this.
