It may not be great, but there is more space, a quieter cabin and better service - in my opinion at least.

And, to be fair to BA, CE does live up (or down) to the billing on ba.com.
I'm pretty much the same. I travel to TFS regularly and for me, CE offers me a lot more than I could get with the likes of EZY or (shudder) FJ. I pay for the convenience of check in, lounge, attentive crew (maybe I have been lucky) and a decent food/beverage offering. Check in on the return is particularly worth paying for, and I don't ever seem to be costing it out much more than +£200 return.

That said, if you don't know the seats you will be disappointed. I've only found better in Europe on Turkish.

The galleries at LGW isn't amazing either, lets be honest to have such a difference in offering between LHR and LGW is a joke.

The ex bmi airbus could do with a damn good clean tbh from the example I flew on a few days ago.

Service in CE makes the flight, interested and proactive crew and the flight is decent, however if you get bad crew.......

cs
Yes. The Sala lounge (though you need to ensure you get a voucher at check in), but if you think LGW is crap......agree about everything else though. I find LGW crew very good.

It's not worth huge amounts extra, but on a 2/3 hour flight I will always consider it, and also on shorter sector, especially if in need of TP's. When you travel a lot the small things like fast track, lounge access, first off plane etc are very important. Believe it or not, a few years ago KLM stopped blocking the middle seat in Business Class short haul- it caused uproar and rightly so. Cannot believe anyone in their right mind thought this to be a good idea.
Agreed.
