No more work travel with BA

Some advice please.

Have just been informed that we can no longer fly BA as there is no preferred supplier agreement any more.

We have discounts on these airlines which we can book:

· Star Alliance (Air Canada, ANA, Asiana, Austrian, Brussels, Lufthansa, United, US Airways, Swiss and Singapore)
· Sky Team (Delta, Air France, KLM, Alaska (select markets) and Alitalia)
· Southwest, Virgin America, Virgin Atlantic, Emirates and Qantas Airlines

My own status is Silver but would make Gold this year (comfortably).

My flight patterns are mostly London to AMS but also TXL and various other EU destinations. As well as 2 or 3 trips in J to AU and 1 /2 TATL, also in J

Apparently we can be status matched with United's MileagePlus if we apply

My main concern is not the long haul but my very frequent trips to AMS / TXL - which now mean no status and flying on airlines with a lot less availability, especially to AMS.

Any thoughts on how to best handle this?
