It sounds like the main question is how do you have enough credit cards to keep multiple backup cards at the hotel while you're out and about, in case you get robbed while you're out? That seems to me to be a bit extreme.

If I'm traveling internationally, I usually have two credit cards. One main one that I use for everything, and one backup one from a different bank in case I run into issues. I also have my ATM card.
