Funny this thread comes up. I got to play around with the new Rockwell Collins HGS system this week. Fun stuff.
Here's the new system they were demoing. This is a combo HUD that uses an infrared camera (like what FedEx uses) and the synthetic vision (paints the terrain green).

Looks like flights are still going out though, so I should be good for SEA -> YVR in 45 min. The inbound BUR -> SEA was pretty smooth, but stupidly foggy!
I left on the 920p SEA-PHX flight and I could barely see the winglet when we pushed off the gate. Vis was bouncing between 0.10 and 0.25 miles. We were an hour late pushing because they were using the low-vis taxi routes. The taxiway lights looked cool though!
