With respect, I'd say the Connaught wins that gong. I was also thinking, The Connaught has a lovely warm pool, which would be fun with a 2 year old.....my 5 year old loves it!! It's normally priced at the same level as the FS.
The Connaught is a great hotel. If the OP does not choose FS, there are other very good choices including the Connaught. However, I do think we can all agree that the Ritz is not one of them.
