Long term stay rates... any experience negotiating?

Hi everyone,

So recently I've gone from hotel stays here and there to living in them for 5 nights per week, currently splitting between Ibis and Doubletree.

As it's now on my own money I've been contacting a few hotels in the area to see what they can do for me on rates. It's possible Hilton properties will be out of my budget but I wanted to see whether anyone has any experience with this sort of situation and what sort of discount I might expect (if any) or should be looking for.

I'll be in the area into 2014, staying 4 or 5 nights per week.

The first Hilton has just responded, and quoted considerably more than I'd have hoped for (given I'm looking at block booking weeks/ months). In fact I can book it for less per night on Hilton.com so it's no help at all.

Any input/ ideas much appreciated, surely they should be jumping at the chance to fill a room for an extended period...
