Just to close the loop, R space opened up when I checked 10 minutes before T-24. Called in, got a bad agent, HUCA, got a great agent who cleared my upgrade! Feel a bit guilty about it, but I will throw an extra drink or two back in honor of the person who missed the upgrade.
