Penalty for skipping last leg?

Hey everyone, I am looking at a MR in December that would require a relocation. I am MSP based but want to do the MKE-SFO run.

If I do the MKE-DTW-SFO and then on the return do MKE-MSP and skip the MSP-MKE, do I forfeit miles run to that point or do I just end up a no-show at the gate, end of story?
