I actually live in San Diego part of the year.

Nobu is right across from the convention center in the Hard Rock Hotel

Top of the Market is pretty decent for fish (and other stuff) with a view

Burger Lounge for great burgers

Smash Burger also good for burgers

Searsucker for cocktails is great. Used to be good for food but now average.

Ruth Chris on North Harbour Drive is pretty decent for steak. Plus the other regulars like Flemings and Mortons are even closer to the convention center.

BASIC is great by the ballpark in that area and does great pizza and happy hour.

Extraordinary Desserts already mentioned above is highly recommended.
