Not sure if this was confirmed or mentioned earlier, but adding a Mobile Data (tablet or hotspot) line to your account will also qualify your tablet/hotspot for free global roaming. Cheapest option is $10/mo with 500MB/mo. $20/mo for 2.5GB. Must have a Simple Choice voice plan for those rates.

Tablet would be fine, but I can't imagine 3-4 devices on a hotspot roaming on 2G.

This might also motivate me to spend the extra coin on a Nexus 7 LTE, even though I will probably never take it off wifi.
