The 77W is too much equipment for AC on this route - in general AC needs more medium size aircraft and not so many large. Rather than buying the 5 discounted, unwanted 777HDs AC would have been better off getting more 787s or 330s.
Milton had such a h@rd on for 777, the A330 never stood a chance IMO. While I love the bulk/power of 77W, I wonder if a mix of A333/332 and 772ER/LRs would have been the optimal mix for AC in hindsight.
It's not a great time for TPAC services, When the only capable frame you often have in these down times is 77W, your options are limited.
