My last two int'l trips, OZ and EU had one segment in Y at booking. In both cases I was told that I was priority listed for the UG. In both cases I got the UG weeks to months in advance. 75K status helped, I am sure.
It sucks to have long haul J with a Y segment interrupting the experience.....
