I know I can't be overly picky when I am trying to get bargain basement pricing, but I really don't feel the Ohana West is equal to the nearby Courtyard from everything I've read. YMMV, of course.
While maybe OT from your original post, I just stayed at the Courtyard 2 weeks ago on points for one night. I have a place in Waikiki but friends were staying there and I arrived a day earlier than planned.

It is definitely in the same league, and not in a good way, as the Ohana West, at least as far as the rooms go. I was 'upgraded' to a deluxe room as a Gold and believe me, there was nothing deluxe about it. The tiniest bathroom I have ever seen, a sink the size of a soap dish and a nice, big cockroach that scurried out from under the bed and went flying out my lanai when I opened the door. Now I own a condo in Waikiki and bugs don't freak me out and I know it's a tropical area blah, blah, blah but seriously, this thing was as big as a cat. The wifi didn't work and after waiting an hour for the guy to arrive, then another hour to reboot the modem several times, which I explained on the phone that I had done, him telling me there was nothing wrong with it but still being unable to log on (he swore it was my ipad) and another hour to realize it couldn't be fixed, they moved me to another room. This one even smaller, if you can believe it. No more than a couple of feet on all sides of the bed, same small bathroom but no steroid-infused insect guests at least. And a shower that completely flooded the bathroom due to a poorly designed shower curtain.

I have stayed at the Ohana West years ago and if it's anything now like it was then, I'd take it over the Courtyard in a heartbeat if it was just for a night, like on a MR.

Again, OT I know, but the Courtyard is no Waldorf and really, the Ohana might not have been a bad choice for the price you got it for. Just sayin'.
