To Europe I prefer the 1am flight much more then the 6am flights.

The 6am flights are killers, I don't get to bed the night before as I have to leave to the airport at 2:30, and also don't get in untill noon, and by then I'm too tired to do anything, meaning night and day lost.

The 1am flights, although you lose the night you are in for 6am, have a nap and most of the day I still have.
