Usually, the pax name cannot be modified, unless, its a transferable fare / booking. Simply, call and confirm with the airline and you should be fine.

As a thumb-rule, always sit down with a copy of the passenger' travelling documents while making a booking. If you use a TA to book it, send them an email with the correct spellings and cross-check before making the payment.

You should be thankful, you weren't flying RyanAir..!!
