Ok, I thought I'd comment on the Best Western as I just finished a stay here. As the Sheraton Sapporo is actually located in Shin-Sapporo and a good 15 min train ride away from Sapporo station, I thought I'd try out the BW. The BW is easily accessible by the "Airport Limo Bus" although it seems to run like a normal bus service. However, at Y1000, I'm not complaining.

While it didn't "drop my jaw", I must say it is unlike any BW hotel that I'm familiar with. The area is filled with new hotels (of which the BW is one of them) and very close to Susukino - walking distance to tons of restos and shops. I booked their highest room (Premier King) + breakfast for a ridiculously cheap price. The room is a very decent size and the FD service is quite good. The FD proactively emailed all relevant info to find the hotel, etc, before my arrival so it was all good.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with my stay there and would recommend it as an option in Sapporo. What would I critique? The buffet breakfast seems to be given away to tons of tour groups so everyone and their uncle eats there. While there was a good selection, the overall quality wasn't there (when comparing to the Sheraton/Westin Tokyo). However, it's still miles better than any BW in North America.
