Good luck finding J award space LAX-PTY more than 24 hours out. Copa is selling almost exclusively C fares on that route now. Sometimes one or two D fares per flight, not processing any upgrades (including "instant" upgrades) until T-24. Combined with the recent PTY meltdown, these policies have really soured me on Copa. (Unfortunately, Avianca also sucks in its own special ways.)
