The reason BA are able to do these subs with long-haul aircraft is because due to the arrival of our 380s and 787, there is some spare capacity at the moment.



Also BA at LGW operates as a kind of MF hybrid where as everyone or pretty much all crew can operate 777/32s/734.

So in the case of the LGW 777 sub it might of had no impact at all on crewing other than flight deck.
