Thanks everyone for your input. I'm happy to read so many other people are low-carbing! Maybe it's time for airlines to actually offer a carb free meal? Having said that, the brunch I got going down to Dubrovnik wasn't too bad:

I've done a bit more research, and from what i've found, diabetic meals seem to typically be quite carb heavy, just without the sugar.

From Diabetes Forum: "I spoke to American Airlines about this and was told the diabetic meal is for those who use fixed or sliding scale insulin doses and need to count on X carbs being available at a specific time to prevent a low. The advice they had was to order a seafood meal, which is their lowest carb option. "

I think i'll stick with the seafood and champagne meal! (or even a vodka and diet coke, carb free!)
