Longhaul aircraft covering shorthaul routes.
Just thought it worth a thread as these subs seem far more common currently.
In the past couple of weeks a combination of tech shorthaul aircraft, atc strikes, and I think storms have resulted in longhaul aircraft subbing on shorthaul routes.
08/10/13 G-YMMH (772) operated to ARN due to unavailable 763.
10/10/13 G-BNLZ (744) operated to NCE due to cancellation of an earlier rotation.
10/10/13 G-CIVE (744) operated to BCN due to an earlier cancellation.
18/10/13 G-YMMD (772) positioned LHR-LGW to operate a combined LGW-AGP service where two rotations had been combined into one.
18/10/13 G-CIVS (744) operated to FCO following an earlier cancellation.
19/10/13 G-CIVK (744) operated to FCO due to a dropped rotation by a 763
Just thought as it seems a semi regular occurrence currently that it might be worth a thread to keep track of these substitutions.
It also poses the question, what will happen when BA eventually phase out the larger capacity euro config aircraft (763) when capacity is needed for euro and domestic rotations, a reconfigured 772 perhaps ?
(Feel free to post to the thread to update it with similar substitutions)
