KLM should look at United's Economy Plus. I always assign my self an Economy Plus Seat and on my last flight I saw some poachers trying to get a seat free of charge. Along comes the lead Flight Attendant with her Credit Card Machine and said"excuse me sir but if you would like to move to this seat I would be glad to sell it to you for $30". The look on that man's face was priceless and said"It's not worth $30 to me".

I smiled at the flight attendant and said"I'm glad your enforcing the United Economy Plus policy". I remember in the old days before they were enforcing United Economy Plus I would score a free upgrade at the gate just by kindly asking if I could have a window seat at the front of the plane.

On one of my Hawaii flights on United the kind agent assigned me an entire row of unassigned Economy Plus seats after we had a conversation at the gate about Hawaii she asked for my boarding pass and said"Here you go" I smiled.
