Welcome to FT!

I get the feeling that Thales in-seat power cannot supply power to more power-hungry laptops.

Out of interest, what is the wattage of your laptop charger? This may tell you the reason.

I haven't had any problems with my ULV laptop (one of the small Sony thing) or MacBook Air but both are far from power-hungry.
