It's way too early to get a good day room rate for the 28th. I would not even bother until 10/25-26. At that point the property has a better handle on inventory (and often air crew where they know the approximate checkout time).

As others note, call the FD during the day when you are more likely to get someone with discretion. $180 can drop to $90 in a second if the hotel has significant vacancies.
