Seems you have different philosophy dealing with credit cards than I do - my principle is not to carry balance and never pay CC interest fees. I have not had any CC interest fees paid since I opened my first CC. All charges are paid in full at the end of the due date.
I wasn't clear. I never carry a balance either. The auto-pay is to prevent an accidental or fraudulent charge on a card I don't regularly use from causing a missed payment. I have alerts set up in Mint as well, this is just an extra level of protection for my credit score.
