Yes, that is exactly what you have to do: put KE (and DL) flights on hold online (or just straight ahead ticket), then call to add in the other flights. The DL agents CAN see the KE flights, but the instructions that they are given are (purposefully?) incorrect, so if they follow their training/instructions it won't work. They need to know the real way to get them, vs. the supposed way (that doesn't really work). That is what a few agents have told me in the past, at least..not sure if it's still so, but I guess it could be.

BTW, good luck with the VN flights. Let me know how many hours and calls (how many weeks or even months) it takes you until you get someone at DL who actually knows how to add a VN flight. Last time I checked, VN flights cannot be even long sold, DL must directly e-mail someone at VN, await their response, and then force the flight in (apparently DL's systems don't talk to VN at all in any shape or form, so it all must be done manually, then DL tells VN under what ticket # the flight is issued, and they manually mark it so - it's all manual, think paper and pencil and telegraph days). At least, that is how it was a few months ago (took me a good month to get the one VN flight ticketed by DL and more hours than I care to count). Hopefully by now it's fixed... but it was pretty much impossible to add VN flights, as the procedure was so long and took a good week to go through, and most DL agents just didn't care to put in that amount of effort and to have to check back the next day and the next day again on its status and do the next steps.
