I will be travelling with family and prob 3 cabin-sized bags or slightly larger. I know the bus is probably the better option, but I like trains

Any info will be much appreciated.
I could only find you the Chinese website for the seat http://www.wretch.cc/blog/HelloTasha/550534

I will say it depends on how many people are in your group and how old are they? What time is your flight exactly?

Since you will be almost the first to take the train (assuming NRT T1), I will say luggage is not an issue. People are used to that just be considerable (i.e. don't block people/seats or cause any inconvenience). You can either hold it in front of you or put it next to the door (remember to lay down so that it won't roll ).
