a 1 way is any pt A to pt B , it makes no difference about anything else, w/o there being a routing to get you back to pt A.

I take it you booked IAH-ATH & BCN-CDG-IAH on 2 different PNRs. Had you booked it on 1 PNR you might have gotten what you want. Use Multiple Destinations and flight #1 is IAH-ATH, #2 BCN-CDG,#3 CDG-IAH

Once you cashed out for a 1 way if you now want a r/t tkt they will usually have to CX what you booked and start all over again, depending on your status(if any) there will be fees involved which may or may not make it worthwhile to pay. If the IAH-ATH isnt avaialble any longer you cant rely that if you CX it that it will reappear again in Saver Awards

As a 1K Ive grabbed a 1 way since thats all that was bookable return date wasnt avaialble for booking yet ( > 330 days out still) when I was able to book my return the outbound was gone = having to keep 2 1 ways. Iwasnt too , since if I had waited to book my outbound till I was able to book my return,I wouldnt have had an outbound at all
