I just stayed here on a cash and points rate (as the hotel was going for 250+ Euros/nt) before catching a morning flight back to New York.
Observations:
- The internet connection is terrible. I tried the wired connection when I was in my room and it was just as bad, so I can't just chalk this up to a poor wifi signal.
- Zilch for SPG Plat recognition, including no lounge access at first. How hard is it to say something (sbm12 had a nice piece on this the other day), let alone actually doing things right?
- I wound up getting a room as far as possible (unfortunately) from the elevator bank. The hotel had been fully booked according to its website <24 hours out, so I wasn't expecting an upgrade.
Wow - I've only ever had good experiences at this hotel. Regularly upgraded to Jr Suite + since making plat, and never any issues with lounge access. I have had rooms that are quite far from the elevator though - the sprawling floor plans do make that a bit of an issue at times. This airport hotel almost needs airport-style moving walkways!
I've also never seen it as high as 250 Euro (always in the 100-125 range when I've been there). Suggests to me that maybe it was REALLY busy that night for some reason?
