A pretty accurate trip report, although I disagree a little on some things dealing with F&B, both concerning the lounge and on board (this is a taste matter, anyway).
At any rate, on international flights the announcements are, as you mention, usually in Greek and English (on approximately every second one they do that in other languages too), but this is not so odd in Europe where the origin/destination language is still rarely used. Not to mention TATL flights on US airlines, when the foreign language depends on whether a "native speaker" is among the members of the crew! At any rate, throughout Europe the origin/destination language now becomes more common using pre-recorded messages.
