Heraklion Airport and Aegean 317 HER-ATH Airbus A320:

Heraklion is a tiny airport that serves a LOT of tourists! It was a zoo.

Thank goodness for Gold Cards!

I stayed overnight at the Sofitel Athens Airport before the SAS Blue1 flight to Helsinki the next morning.

Scandinavian Airlines Check-In
SAS gave us invitations to the GoldAir Contract lounge, but we just went to LH Business next door for lunch. This Business Lounge is really good- they had some nice options for lunch:

Greek meatballs with yogurt sauce and polenta

Greek salad, tomato soup, and sour cherry juice

SAS/Blue1's 717. I have flown Blue1 a bunch, but never on a 717. In fact this is my first flight on a 717.

It was pretty cramped, so I'm not going to look to fly one again.

Landed in Helsinki- much bleaker looking than Athens. A bunch of Finnair planes, one with the Marimekko branding.
