just to give some insights on latest qualification details, ive been a member since 07 and platinum since 09 and regularly spend 120k-200k annually, last year through i spent almost 400k, but the spending is really all over the place, from mcds to fine hotel to cruise to just daily groceries. i did not have a high portion of luxury travel/hotel as with a 2 year old i haven't traveled much lately other than a family trip to hawaii last dec. but my wife did buy quite a bit at holt renfrew with her supplementary card, that may have something to do with it? i don't know.
If its only a wow that you are looking for, then don't upgrade. But if you are looking at the perks and benefits it's well worth the price
