No. 2 tickets is 2 tickets. There is no difference in protection regardless of which miles are utilised. If flight 1 is late and miss flight 2 , then down to what an agent will be prepared to do rather than the airline being required to rebook

To be assured of protection against delays, need to have it booked as a single ticketed itinerary
