Last year we landed at YVR and drove north to Whistler on a Saturday Afternoon. Getting through downtown was atrocious and the drive ended up taking 3 hours & 30 minutes. Dr. Google says the drive time is supposed to be 1:55.

We are doing the same trip this year and I currently have the trip booked as flying into SEA. Going by Dr. Google that drive is right at 4 hours. I know I have to throw in a border crossing in there too. So call it 4:30.

I have the flights booked on WN with a companion pass, which is using about 15,000 points one way. We are spending a night in Seattle so I am thinking about switching one flight to United which would take 50k points. So net cost of 35,000 points and in theory I am gaining 2 hours less driving which if last year was any indication I'm going to save an hour.

Thoughts?
