To be fair, there's not a bad Hyatt Place (or great but that's a another story) or Starwood in the city. I know, I'm pretty sure I've stayed at all of them. They're all decent to better. For opening price points, MR sucks in Detroit.
On the other hand, the Baronette near Novi is a really nice property and very reasonably priced albeit on weekends.
