Where were you trying to go? It's true of course that BTS/MRT don't go everywhere but you can often combine them with other modes to get where you're going. Or take a taxi. Or a boat.

I agree that it takes some getting used to. But I love its insanity. I also usually have a guide help me get to places that are difficult because I typically have more money than time when I am traveling.
